I'M A little wonder in a BIG WORLD
I'm in LOVE with my city

When construction started in 1908, it was Britain's tallest skyscraper. The two famous Liver Birds on top, Bella and Bertie, one faces the city, and the other faces the River Mersey they protect the people, and the other protects the city's fortunes at sea. If the Liver Birds ever leave the building, Liverpool itself will cease to exist.
The building forms part of Liverpool's famous waterfront trio known as the Three Graces, alongside the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building.

The Cunard Building is one of Liverpool’s most famous landmarks. Before air travel, millions of people travelling across the Atlantic passed through the Cunard Building. The building was the headquarters where plans and decisions were made for legendary ocean liners. The building has developed a reputation for strange noises, unexplained footsteps and sightings of old-fashioned passengers.
Architectural historians consider the Cunard Building to be the most elegant of the three because of its Italian Renaissance-inspired design and rich decorative sculpture.

Although many people assume the Royal Liver Building came first because it's the most famous, the Port of Liverpool Building was actually completed first and is the oldest of the Three Graces. Beneath the central dome is a huge octagonal hall with a mosaic compass built into the floor.
While the Royal Liver Building is the city's icon, plenty of locals and architecture fans argue the Port of Liverpool Building is actually the most beautiful because of its dome, sculpture work and grand interiors.
